Apex HCM is currently in the midst of a technology transformation that will touch almost every aspect of our product lifecycle, from ideation to development to operations, and everything around it and in between.  This opportunity is for an expert C# Developer to join our growing team.

We are looking for a candidate who is confident, willing, and eager to learn fast, and grow with the company. The right candidate will be familiar with Microsoft development technologies. In this position the candidate will design, implement, test and deploy enhancements to our existing system to meet user and business needs. This position demands a hands-on, team player with excellent technical and interpersonal communication skills, customer focus, and exceptional follow-up skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze, design, code and test complex software systems, including features, defects, and code refactoring
  • Gather information on system capabilities and limitations to address system scalability and reliability
  • Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot defects, build and deploy software, and provide software support as necessary
  • Communicate with multiple teams, record and report status in an agile environment using multiple collaboration tools
  • Prepare code documentation, contribute ideas to project planning, and occasionally mentor other engineers
  • Consult with internal and external customers as needed to address system function needs

Essential Experience Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience developing software products in a SaaS environment
  • Solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
  • Extensive experience utilizing hands-on development practices using C# and ASP.NET
  • Proficient with SQL, stored procedures, and SQL Server
  • Proficient with object-oriented development and design patterns
  • Strong experience and solid understanding of the following: AJAX, JSON, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, WinForms, WCF Services, and Web Services/Web API
  • Relevant experience in building and maintaining mission-critical systems in payroll processing or other financial technologies
  • Relevant experience in building and maintaining high-volume transaction, highly concurrent software applications
  • Experience with UML, Rational Unified Process, or other OO development methodology
  • Previous experience with source control systems, unit testing, and mock frameworks
  • Knowledgeable of continuous deployments and continuous integrations
  • Comfortable and effective when dealing with ambiguity 
  • Adaptable to and able to influence change

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Large-scale, cloud-based development with SOA or micro-services
  • React, Angular, HTML5, CSS3
  • .NET Core
  • WinForms/VB.Net
  • SSRS, SSMS
  • Mobile web development experience
  • ASP.NET MVC 3+
  • Entity Framework Testing frameworks such as NUnit, Spec Flow, Web Driver, or Jasmine
